Birmingham macaroon queen is baking sweet gifts for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

A Birmingham food entrepreneur has revealed she was “shocked and thrilled” when asked to make macaroons for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal visit in Birmingham Thursday March 8, which is International Women’s Day.

Rose Ginday, who runs Miss Macaroon shop in the Great Western Arcade was told the news the high profile couple were coming to Brum a week ago when the visit was officially announced.

Social enterprise bakes branded gifts for the Royal couple

Rosie, 33, a former chef at Purnell’s restaurant, founded Miss Macaroon as a social enterprise in 2011 to provide training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged young people.

Originally from Coventry, Rosie has lived in Brum for the past ten years.

She and her team now supplies macaroons to top restaurants, coffee shops and a high-end retailer in addition to her online shop.
