Miss Macaroon is a female run social enterprise, founded in 2011 by CEO Rosie Ginday. As such, International Women’s Day is doubly a cause for celebration here at Miss Macaroon.
Miss Macaroon’s and International Women’s Day
International women’s day is about working towards equality between genders and showcasing the integral role women play in the world of work. If a business isn’t working to overcome gender inequality then it’s setting itself up for a rocky road.
From the social work that Miss Macaroon orchestrates, Rosie promotes women in the world of work by acting as a spokeswoman at events. Over the past few years Rosie has spoken in events including Pinsent and Masons’ Inspiring Young Girls Conference and the Freeths high tea networking event for women in business. Miss Macaroon created personalised macaroons with chosen imagery for the conferences.
The Challenges overcome by Miss Macaroon herself
Rosie overcame challenges over the past decade as her business has grown. She excelled in a short space of time, growing her nationwide macaroon business. Having started off with a background in patisserie, Rosie took time between working 40 hours a week in her day job and time between shifts to start and grow her own business venture.
Miss Macaroon is now coming up to celebrate 10 years of the creation of a charitable organization and being an equal opportunity employer. 100% of profits provide training to the MacsMAD and its social enterprise schemes. These programs are designed to help young people get into the world of work, especially those with multiple and complex needs. Further to this the new creation of the Government kickstart scheme which Miss Macaroon has opened up her business to, due to the pandemic which employees 18-25 year olds are supported and employed to get back into work due to limited jobs being available from the challenges of Covid19.
