Building a Brighter Future: Event report now live!

Building a Brighter Future: Event report now live!

Our recent Building a Brighter Future event brought together regional, policymakers, leaders in construction, and community stakeholders, to share valuable insights on how the construction sector can work together with social enterprises to create valuable local social change. The event took place just under 2 weeks ago on November the 13th at University College Birmingham, and we would like to again thank all the attendees for joining us, as well as all the amazing staff, making the day such a success!

The Post-Event report

Following the event, we have created a report highlighting the key findings of the event, with the aim to carry this conversation between the construction industry and social enterprises. By sharing this report, we hope to also catch the eye of people who were unable to join us at the event but need to be apart of this conversation.
Our speakers on the day shared valuable insight into how social value output of companies is rising on the agenda when it comes to procurement and being awarded contracts. We also heard about the importance of a local level focus when it comes to seeking to create positive change, for example tackling entrenched issues such as youth unemployment and homelessness in the West Midlands.

The report includes:

  • Key takeaways from the event
  • Opportunities for the Construction sector
  • Insights from our speakers and chairs
  • Call to action for policy makers
