Corporate gifting in 2020: Macaroons that make a Difference

Online events with a macaron gift box

We recently received a request from a large corporate company asking whether they could buy macaroons online in the UK. Of course our answer was yes! As a large multi-division caterer and hospitality company, they were missing their team events and wanted to ensure their team had a chance to check in with each other. They wanted to buy macaroons online for a virtual brunch that they were holding for their executive team. They wanted to send a macarons gift box to their Managing Director and all the Managing Directors for all of their different divisions and they wanted the macaroons sent through to their head office as they wanted to add their own personal note. However we can send the macarons by post to any location in the UK that you’d like and to as many individuals as you’d need, plus we can add your note to your team for you. This is very easy to do and we send you a very simple spreadsheet to fill in the names and addresses of the receivers of the macarons corporate gift box, if you needed inspiration on team morale boosting messages, these are a few we had received so far:

‘Keep your head up and keep on powering through, here’s some macarons by post to hopefully brighten your day!’

‘Thank you for all your dedication and hard work over the past few months, we really appreciate it and as a token of appreciation we thought we’d send a macarons gift box, enjoy!’

‘We hope with this sweet delivery that this virtual event feels a little more normal! Dig in!’

‘You have been incredible during this period of isolation, we couldn’t have done it without you, please enjoy this macaron giftbox delivery’

‘From your amazing team, thank you so much for leading us through such an unknown time, we are sad we can’t meet today to celebrate the businesses achievements, but we thought a macarons giftbox might help to brighten the day a little bit!’

‘We just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your hardwork and dedication over the past few weeks, we know that it hasn’t been easy and we really appreciate everything you have done. We cannot wait to get back into the office and celebrate everything, but for now a macaron giftbox delivery will have to do!’

Social enterprise sweet treats

Our macarons giftbox was part of a social enterprise gift hamper that was given to all of the Managing Directors of the company. Due to the current situation in the UK, social enterprise companies, who are normally also independent businesses, have been hit hard. Here at Miss Macaroon, our mission is to help marginalised young people by giving them employability skills and confidence through work experience and training and help them get into the labour market with success. By making and selling bulk macarons online, we are able to reinvest our profits into running our ‘Macaroons that make a difference’ programmes where pastry production, health and safety and hygiene in the kitchen is taught alongside personal and social development sessions. We have had the pleasure of experiencing some amazing trainee success stories, ranging from a trainee setting up their own business to being offered work experience at HS2 in Birmingham. This has all been made possible through the purchase of macaroons online, all our customers do is order what they fancy on our website and the person receives macarons by post the next day, and know that they have helped to change someone’s life just with their order.

Covid-19 and a macarons gift box

Due to the current situation, we have had to deliver these sessions online, which has been hard on our trainees, plus we do not have as much coming in which directly impacts the number of trainees we can carry on taking onto the courses. Unfortunately, we have not been able to recruit anyone new onto the programme because we do not have enough cashflow at the moment, this means that we are unable to help some really vulnerable unemployed young people in the time they need it the most. So, if you are having a virtual team meeting or are hosting a team event, where there would normally have been food, consider sending macarons by post to make it a bit more normal and know that you are helping your community in the process.

Any company that buys products or services can choose to support a social enterprise either by using a social enterprise as a supplier or with funding and support. Social enterprises can offer products and services at a competitive rate to regular businesses, from groundwork to food or gifts for events. Making this switch would not only be good for the social enterprise, but also for you as you achieve points on your CSR plan, whilst motivating employees with your positive impact on the community or environment. Social enterprises can often provide a more personal service or bespoke product as is the case with Miss Macaroon. For example, our macarons gift box can have every flavour chosen by the customer, you can add a personalised message, we can even print a face or logo on it to make it even more bespoke!

So if you are looking to return to a little bit of normality, or you just want to say thanks to your amazing team, please consider using a social enterprise to give your gift. Our macarons can be delivered all over the UK and all you need to do is order online here: www.missmacaroon.co.uk
