Miss Macaroon Hosts HRH Countess of Wessex for Royal Visit!
On Tuesday 13th November, Miss Macaroon had the privilege to welcome the Countess of Wessex at our office to visit us and meet with our MacsMAD trainees. We had our lovely MacsMAD graduates, key partners, board members and supporters join us to celebrate the privilege! It was a fantastic opportunity for Miss Macaroon to show the Countess of Wessex the behind the scenes of making our mouthwatering 100% gluten-free macaroons and inform the Countess of Wessex about our social impact!
The Countess of Wessex put on a disposable jacket and covered her hair with one of our hair nets. We showed her around our production kitchen where we make our macaroons and train our MacsMAD trainees that were very excited to meet with her. Our Pastry Chef, Jenny Harris explained the product, ingredients and production method!
We had the Royal Party go upstairs to our office to have some delicious social enterprise tea (provided by the Tea People who fund education projects in Darjeeling). Her Royal Highness was then introduced to Will Sheperd, CEO of Cohesion Recruitment and one of our amazing key partners and our very own MacsMAD graduates.
We explained our MacsMAD training project in further detail with 100% of our profits going towards the courses we have available consisting of training, one-to-one mentoring, functional skills learning and work experience. Our trainees also leave with their five year plan, up to date CV, extensive interview practise, industry contacts and help to apply for jobs! Our trainees and graduates proudly presented their work and parting gifts to the Countess of Wessex before her leave.
